OFFENDERS CLEAR UP FINNIESTON EYESORE
An unsightly strip of land between Minerva Street and Staples/ PC World in Finnieston has been cleaned up thanks to the city's Community Payback team.
Yorkhill and Kelvingrove Community Council had put in a request for help with tidying up the land.
And this week a team of offenders paying back their dues to the city set about cutting back the scrub and lifting the litter.
The community council said on its Facebook page: "Work will include the clearing of ground cover, raising the tree canopy - enabling more light at ground level and the painting of the 'ankle breaker' barriers in black.
"Once this is completed we hope to approach businesses for possible plant donations.
"We would like to create a low maintenance planting scheme to brighten this area.
"If anyone can help with plant donations or assist with creating a planting scheme please get in touch."
