T housands of runners have taken to the streets of the West End for the Great Women's 10k road run.
The event created an amazing spectacle of colour and sound as 6,000 runners pounded a loop from Kelvingrove to the Riverside and back under clear blue skies.

It was a return to the West End for the event which has been staged in the Southside in recent years.
And the new course did not disappoint as competitors passed familiar landmarks along the way, including the University of Glasgow, the Riverside Museum and the Kelvingrove Gallery and Museum.
Off: Thousands of runners set off from Kelvin Way with 10k ahead of them.
Riverside: Half-way was marked with a run along the River Clyde.
Competitors enjoyed pre-run warm ups to music and entertainment with several musical waves set out for runners to enjoy the songs of their choice.
Singing, dancing, fancy dress and lots of selfie-taking were the order of the day as the clock ticked down to the start.
Landmarks: The run went past many city landmarks including the Kelvingrove Gallery & Museum.
Runners got under way just after 10.30am, with competitors leaving in waves based on ability and times.
The course headed along Gibson Street and Woodlands Road. It turned into Kelvingrove Park and then on to the Riverside.
Last lap: The end is in sight for these runners as they tackle Sauchiehall Street.
The last kilometres were through the busy streets of Finnieston and the lanes of Kelvingrove before entering the finishing line at the main gates to the park.
Teams: Among the runners were Mums On The Run made up of parents from Hyndland Primary School.
