Cancer Support Scotland has received a £10,000 donation from the Morrisons Foundation.
The cheque was presented by Catherine McRoberts from the company’s Anniesland branch in Glasgow.
The foundation is the charitable arm of the supermarket chain.
The money will be used by the charity - which has a centre on the Gartnavel campus - to help people affected by the cancer.
Catherine said: “We were delighted to present this cheque to a charity which is supporting people who have been affected by cancer in Scotland.”
Cancer Support Scotland chief executive Colin Graham said the money would go to helping the charity provide support for the increasing number of people anxious to use its one-to-one counselling and complementary therapy services.
He said: “We’re very grateful to the Morrisons Foundation for this gift and for the support the Anniesland branch has given us in the past.
“Demand for our services is increasing every year and donations like this are vital so we can continue to make more appointments and services available to people with cancer, their families and carers.”
The Morrisons Foundation was set up by Morrisons supermarkets in 2015 and gets most of its funding from the sale of single-use carrier bags.
Colin added: “All our services are free and I would like to urge other companies to get involved in supporting us as every donation we receive goes to helping people deal with cancer.”
Cancer Support Scotland offers counselling, a range of complementary therapies including various forms of massage, aromatherapy, reflexology, reiki, guided visualisation and stress management techniques all aimed at easing pain and discomfort and reducing stress and anxiety.
Services are also provided at outreach centres in Glasgow as well as other locations in the west of Scotland, Edinburgh and West Lothian.
