'Hanoi' comes to Six By Nico in Finnieston

New theme will be available from July 18

One of the world's most ancient capitals has inspired the latest, ever-changing menu at Six By Nico.

Diners in Finnieston and the group’s other venues will be treated to the tastes of ‘Hanoi’ from July 18.

The new six course HANOI tasting menu includes Bún Riêu - Vietnamese Shellfish Foam, Avocado, Grapefruit, Crispy Noodles & Wild Rice; Nem Rán - Crispy Prawn Nem Rán, Spring Roll, Carrot & Mooli; Bún Bo - Smoked Beef, Noodles, Bone Marrow Sauce, Coriander, Beansprouts; Cha Ca La Vong - Cod, Coconut & Coriander Chutney, Vietnamese Curry, Bok Choy; Banh Da Goi Xoai - Tamarind Glazed Chicken, Sweet Potato Hash, Crispy Leg Salad & Burnt Mango.

The Glasgow-based restaurant group gathered ideas for the new offerings from creatives in the Vietnamese city.

'Challenge'

Six by Nico head of creative development chef Andy Temple said the menu was one of the most challenging and rewarding yet.

He said: "We knew that exploring Hanoi as a menu would be a creative challenge for the development team when we first thought of it.

“It's difficult to find locally sourced ingredients, so talking with local restaurants in the UK really helped us get the final dishes on the menu right.

“We are extremely grateful to the guys in Hanoi for their time and knowledge alongside our creative team.

“I hope our guests enjoy this truly amazing menu and that we are able to transport them to this wonderful city".

Diners can book a table now for HANOI. Open weekly, each six-course menu will be available from noon to late.

The menu will be priced from £37 per person with the option to enjoy an expertly selected wine pairing for an additional £30 at each restaurant.

There is a vegetarian alternative available for every course, as well as HANOI inspired snack sides from £6.50.

What we thought:

We were delighted to be invited to the menu’s preview night at Beat 6 in Dennistoun. And we have to say this is one of the best themes yet.

Each course is packed with so many flavours and creativity.

It was hard to pick a favourite, but the Cha Ca La Vong (Cod, Coconut & Coriander Chutney) is simply stunning.

What we love is the experience of sitting down to a full taster menu.

This is not a meal to be rushed or to be squeezed in. Give yourself plenty of time to savour the moment.

And, the vegetarian or pescatarian alternatives are genuine and tasty variations of the meat versions.

Six By Nico has reinvented dining in recent years with ever-changing menus.

In our opinion, Hanoi is simply one of the best.
