More than 1,600 Christmas baskets are being donated to people in Glasgow this year.
And the first 50 parcels have been sent on their way by state-of-the-art electric cargo bike.
Helpers Claudio Pia and Karolis Toleikis from West End-based cycle charity Bike for Good did the honours taking a consignment to Scottish Veterans Residences’ Bellrock Close in Cranhill.
The baskets have been organised by the 100%-volunteer-run programme The Glasgow Basket Brigade.
Supporters have spent the last few weeks funding and filling the £15 Christmas baskets with small gifts.
People can choose baskets with toiletries, sweets, socks and gloves and Covid-19 kits.
Supporters can even download a Christmas playlist to listen to while making up their basket and a host of creative ideas.
The organisation is still inviting people to take part to help hit its target.
The Glasgow Basket Brigade’s Founding Chair is Louise Graham, an impact mentor and coach from Glasgow.
She said: “We have been overwhelmed by the kindness of the community and the effort that has gone into producing such beautiful baskets.
“We have received 1620 baskets so far, just 380 short of our 2000 target - and we are so very grateful.
“These baskets will bring some much-needed sparkle to families in need across Glasgow, directly benefiting them at such a meaningful time.”
The baskets are being delivered to 22 hubs across the city.
From there they will be taken on to the communities where they are needed in time for Christmas.

A large portion of the baskets will be given to a number of community partners.
These include Home Start Glasgow South, The Preshal Trust, Healthy N Happy, Homes for Good and Glasgow SE Foodbank.
Volunteers are invited to share images of their creative baskets on social media using the hashtag #GlasgowHumanChainOfKindness.
The Glasgow Basket Brigade is a female-led initiative that wants to spread the magic of Christmas.
The idea originally began in the US nearly 40 years ago with acts of kindness around Thanksgiving Day.
