A Partick craft ale bar has called time and is closing as a result of the pandemic.
Six°North in Dumbarton Road has been serving its own beers since 2016.
The Stonehaven-based brewery said it was ‘refocusing’ its efforts in its native north-east.
Six°North’s Robert Lindsay announced the company’s venues in Glasgow and Edinburgh would close.
He said Edinburgh does not yet have new tenants, but Dumbarton Road will “soon bounce back into life with new key holders”, he said.
“The new operator will provide an exciting food offer, quality cocktails, spirits + wines.
“And very important to us, they will offer six permanent lines of Six°North beer, continuing to feed the thirst built up over the past six years by you.”
Robert explained the reasons for the retrenchment in a message on the brewery’s social channels.
He said: “Covid has brought huge challenges for all in our sector, financial instability and emotional & organisational stress.
“For many this has prompted much soul searching and reflection.
“It has forced the question, what is really important?
“Six°North is a business that has an international inspiration, but our heart belongs in the North East of Scotland.”
He said the business must “take a small step back” and consolidate.
He added: “We have made the difficult, and sometimes seemingly impossible decision, to refocus on our efforts and operations in the North East.
“This means we intend to build on what we have created in Stonehaven, Aberdeen, Laurencekirk and Dundee.
“It also means saying goodbye to Six°North Edinburgh and Six°North Glasgow.
“We have a great love for both of these venues, their brilliant customers, staff and communities surrounding them.
Covid has brought huge challenges for all in our sector, financial instability and emotional & organisational stress'
“They are more than just bars, and for that reason we want them to succeed with local operators who can be there every day giving you, our customers, the best experiences possible.”
He concludes: “Six°North may be returning home, but we are very much looking forward to writing the next stage of our adventure and continuing to catch up with our friends further afield.
“We will continue to supply the whole of Scotland, UK and export markets through independent bottle shops, wholesale partners, larger retailers and a bar near you.
“All of this buoyed by our recent rebrand and can launch. The story continues…”
