A group of artists who came together during the Covid lockdown has launched a new exhibition on Byres Road.
G20 Artist Collective is a selected group of artists based in the G20 postcode area of Glasgow.
And Tektos is the second annual exhibition showcasing the group’s artworks, now showing at the cafe gallery Alchemist Experiment.
A press release reads: “The title of this year’s annual show Tektos has two reference points.
“The first, derived from the Greek term tektà Ân, which translates to ‘crafted’ or ‘constructed’.
“It serves as the guiding theme for this year's exhibition, highlighting the intricate craftsmanship and ingenuity that define our local artistic community.
“The second, meaning molten, like the composite material tektite: a natural glass formed from the debris of meteorite impacts.
“The show melds together a contrasting range of mediums and continues to celebrate the collaboration of artists.
G20 Artist Collective was established in January 2022 following two years of lockdowns, online shows, and solo studio working.
The show melds together a contrasting range of mediums and continues to celebrate the collaboration of artists.

Amazed by the rich and varied quality of practicing creatives based in the G20 location of Glasgow, artist Connie Liebschner set about making a way to meet more frequently, share ideas and bring the artist’s work back to the local community.
They meet monthly throughout the year with the numbers of participating artists ranging between 10-18 people.
Along with multiple individual shows throughout 2023, G20 artists will be showing together at Alchemy Experiment this September.
- Tektos is at The Alchemy Experiment, 157 Byres Road, G12 8TS, Glasgow, August 25 – September 10, entry is free.
