SWG3’s collective of painters, designers, graffiti artists, street artists, photographers and creatives is exhibiting its many talents.
The multi-arts venue in Eastvale Place is showcasing the works of its burgeoning community of creatives from now until late December.
‘It Starts Here’ will feature 13 artists who currently work out of Yardworks, the studios, the design studio and the caseroom, all based at SWG3.
United by their connection to SWG3, each artist presents work that reflects their practice and artistic vision.

The exhibition invites audiences to explore the intersection of disciplines, collaboration and creative energy that defines SWG3 and Yardworks.
Glasgow School of Art alumna Amanda Seibæk’s piece “Sway”, is a beautiful mix media artwork that explores Scottish folklore surrounding ferns, which some believe serve as gateways to the fairy kingdom or the underworld, according to the organisers.
Devon Poole, visual artist, photographer and filmmaker, merges spray paint and photography “to create a textured, vibrant artwork that connects modern urban experiences”.
Meanwhile prominent graffiti writer and graphic designer The Guzler – is showing a mixed media graffiti piece on canvas.
Bringing an exciting contemporary approach to traditional forms of portraiture and figurative painting, Glasgow’s James Klinge will exhibit artwork that creates emotion and expression through striking the canvas with a palette knife and spray paint, something he believes delivers “controlled chaos” in his portraits and figurative studies, says SWG3.
Illustrator, designer and filmmaker Jonny Mowat’s ink on paper sketches, were created over the course of one year. Each piece is inspired by one of the 69 new films he watched that year.
Multi-disciplinary artist Michaela McManus has created “Corkscrew”, an oil on board piece that represents the different facets of her practice.
Originally from South East London, Molly Hankinson, is a visual artist whose work can be seen on walls across Glasgow and the UK, her practice incorporating painting, printmaking and illustration.
This work explores the representation and celebration of “safe spaces and the people who occupy them”.
Glasgow-based PizzaBoy, who was Yardworks’ first resident artist, exhibits “So Long, Long Gone”, a mixed media on board.
The exhibition also features work from graphic designer Phoebe Willison, letterpress artist Edwin Pickstone, sign painter and designer Erin Bradley-Scott, artist and graphic designer Thea Bryant, and architect Oscar Murray.
