Design students from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland will provide colourful carnival characters.
A poster for the event reads: "Lots more to be added, so just come along and enjoy a day out for all the family and friends in the west end's biggest park."
A festival spokeswoman said: "West End Festival will be out in full force at The Big Sunday, animating Kelvingrove Park with a range of music, street theatre and providing the carnival atmosphere we have become known for."
