A garden centre with a difference has opened at a former golf course on the outskirts of Glasgow.
Homegrown is the brainchild of Martin and Stephanie McCarron who own West End Garden Centre in Partick.
The centre at Gartcosh is a destination for all the family, offering designer-led homeware and gardening products.
And Homegrown includes a stylish coffee house cafe serving drinks, light meals and snacks.
Interior designer, TV judge and West End resident Anna Campbell-Jones performed the opening ceremony at the weekend.
Community
The occasion was part of a community open day with visitors from across Lanarkshire and Glasgow.
Speaking at the opening, Anna who presents TV’s Scotland's Home of the Year, said: “I was so, so excited and honoured to be invited to open Homegrown - an independent design-led garden centre bursting with beautiful products.
“You can spend a whole day there shopping or just stop in for lunch and treats at the in-store coffee house, which has a wide range of locally-sourced ingredients with veggie and vegan options galore.
“This is a new kind of garden centre, one that brings together the twin joys of interior design and beautiful plants.”
Scotland’s newest and most exciting gardening and homeware hub has already received backing from the local authority and widespread support from the surrounding community.
We were delighted and privileged to have Anna Campbell-Jones support the grand opening as she represents style and design at its best, and this is what homegrown represents.
Martin McCarron
And the centre is now attracting a lot of attention from leading design and interior specialists.
Homegrown is open seven days a week, offering a carefully-curated selection of plants, pots, garden accessories and homewares, providing everything visitors need to create their ideal indoor outdoor space.
Commenting on the community open day, Martin said: “The open day was a huge success and it was a real joy to see an event like this bring the local community together.
“We were delighted and privileged to have Anna Campbell-Jones support the grand opening as she represents style and design at its best, and this is what homegrown represents.
“She really felt like the perfect person to do the honour of cutting the ribbon.”
