Spirit and song set to entertain visitors to the National Whisky Festival in Finnieston

The sessions include masterclasses, whisky related art, crafts and books.

Tickets still remain for a whisky event taking place in the West End this weekend.

The National Whisky Festival is in its second year, returning to SWG3 at Eastvale Place.

The event runs over two sessions this Saturday (January 20) - 12pm to 3.30pm and in the evening 4.15pm to 7.45pm.

Run in partnership with Celtic Connections, the event features live music from artists.

Those playing include Scott Hutchison of Frightened Rabbit, Croft No.5, The Friel Sisters, Talisk and Siobhan Miller.

A Facebook event page says different whiskies/whiskeys from around the globe will be on show.

The sessions include masterclasses, whisky related art, crafts and books.

Enjoy a £5 discount at a bottle shop provided by Good Spirits Co.

There will also be food stalls from award winning Glasgow restaurants

As well as the music, the £40 ticket cost allows people to sample as many drams as they wish - responsibly.

The Facebook entry reads: "We have no interest in the old-men-in-suits, quietly quaffing somewhere stuffy, tutting at the mere thought-crime of ice or mixer.

"We have nothing against them, we just believe that the joys of uisge beatha should be inviting and accessible to all."
