An up and coming Glasgow indie band have announced their debut single and a gig at SWG3 to mark its launch.
Heavyskint are a five-piece who have been selling out their hometown shows so far this year to critical acclaim.
Dates at the Hug and Pint, King Tut’s and Queen Margaret Union have been riotous affairs.
Next stop for the band will be a show at SWG3’s intimate Poetry Club on 29 October to publicise their first release, Vice.

Recorded with esteemed producer Chris McCrory (Catholic Action, Walt Disco, Conscious Pilot), the track ably introduces the band’s noisy guitars and vocal cries.

According to its press release, “‘Vice’ is an early statement of intent for a band that has quickly cemented themselves as ones to watch.”
Guitarist Jamie Kelly adds: “Vice was the first song we wrote together and the only one that we’ve kept from the earliest days of the band.
“It’s a real sonic reflection of who we are as a group - it’s great to finally get it out there.”
The band went to great lengths to ensure the track matched the intensity of their live performance: one of frontman Jacob Hunter’s vocal takes attracted a noise complaint from the units next door to the studio while Kelly put down multiple tracks of him punching his instrument.
“No guitars were harmed in the making of this track”, he insists.

Since forming in 2024, heavyskint have wasted no time in establishing themselves as ones to watch.
Initially a bedroom side project, the current line-up came together in early 2025 and have sold out every show they have played to date.
Fronted by the enigmatic Hunter, the raw, unpredictable nature of their performances has gained the band a growing following across Glasgow.
Heavyskint’s sound draws upon the modern influences of Fontaines D.C and Wunderhorse while giving a nod to vintage Pink Floyd and late 90s rock.
“Moody atmosphere, big choruses, noisy guitars, and high intensity”, is how they describe their vibe.

Music website Discovery Music Scotland raved about the band’s ‘raw, unfiltered edge’ – while glasgowmusicscene.co.uk said “heavyskint’s combination of musicianship, stagecraft, and raw charisma marks them as a band to watch”.
The debut single is the sound of a band with a clear vision and suggests there is far more to come from heavyskint.
The band play SWG3 Poetry Club on 29 October. Tickets can be purchased here.
