25-year-old man is robbed of headphones on Gibson Street by a group of young men

Police appeal for a man who pulled up in a car and spoke to the victim after the incident to get in touch.

A man was robbed of his headphones in the West End in the early hours of Wednesday August 2.

The 25-year-old victim was walking along Gibson Street, near to the entrance to Kelvingrove Park, at around 00.35am when he was approached by a group of four men.

The men robbed the victim of his headphones before making off into the park.

The men are described as white and between 20 and 25 years old.

Detective Constable Greg Turnbull is from the Community Investigation Unit based at Govan.

He said: “It is understood that just after the incident a man pulled up in a car, asked the victim if he was OK and advised him to contact the police.

INVESTIGATION

“I would appeal directly to this man to come forward as he may be able to assist with our investigation.

“I would also appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the robbery, or noticed a group of four men acting suspiciously in the area, to get in touch.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact the Community Investigation Unit based at Govan via 101 and quote incident number 0094 of Wednesday August 2, 2017.

"Alternatively you can call CRIMESTOPPERS on 0800 555 111 where details can be given in confidence.”
