A campaign is being fought to safeguard a Scout hall in the West End.
Concerns have been raised over the future of 44th Scout Group based in Kelvindale.
The Scouts have been based on Ripon Drive for the last 60 years.
Other organisations also use the hall for play groups and meetings.
SAFEGUARD
But homebuilders Mactaggart & Mickel who own the land have called time.
They are thought to want to either develop the land or dispose of it.
Local MSPs and MPs have lodged parliamentary motions in both parliaments to safeguard the building.
MSP Bob Doris said the local community were concerned about the future of the hall.
He told Glasgow West End Today: "Since the threat to the Scout Hall emerged the outpouring of affection and the clear scale of the importance of the building to the local community has been very clear.
"It has provided a crucial facility, not just for the Scouts over the years, but for various community groups including play groups and sports organisations.
"Many constituents have contacted me with fond memories of their time there and are resolute that the future of the Scout Hall must be secured."
Bob Doris, MSP:"Since the threat to the Scout Hall emerged the outpouring of affection and the clear scale of the importance of the building to the local community has been very clear.
"It has provided a crucial facility, not just for the Scouts over the years, but for various community groups including play groups and sports organisations."
He added: "Having spoken to the 44th Scout Group, I have committed to working with them and the various local elected representatives, including MPs and Councillors, to do all we can to assist.
"Having raised the matter in the Scottish Parliament, I will now, along with my colleagues, be seeking a meeting with the land owners Mactaggart & Mickel Homes over this matter.
"It is worth noting that whilst I understand initial discussions between the land owners and the 44th Scout Group may have been challenging, recent statements by Mactaggart & Mickel Homes about a replacement or alternative Scout Hall have sounded much more encouraging.
"I pledge to do all I can to secure this hugely loved and important facility in Kelvindale."
The Scout hall was established on the land in the 1950s.
ALTERNATIVE
New premises were built by the Scout Association in 1994 following a fire.
In 2004, the Scout group took ownership of the building after it had lain empty.
Initially, they made no provision to help the Scouts secure an alternative home, although their stance is understood to have softened.
Craig Ormond, Director of Mactaggart & Mickel Homes, said the company was eager to work with the Scots on a solution.
Craig said: “We have owned this land at Ripon Drive since 1943 and the 44th Scout Group have stayed here, rent free during their entire 60 years.
“Following careful consideration and discussions with Glasgow City Council, we are willing to consider all options for the scout group which includes replacement or relocation if a suitable facility can be found.
“We will continue to work with the scout group to draw up a formal arrangement which will secure their tenure in the meantime.”
The Scout Association were due to comment on the situation.
