Top Glasgow restaurants to appear at BBC Good Food Show at the SEC this weekend

Two Fat Ladies at the Buttery; Drugstore Social and Red Onion will be providing pop-up restaurants at the show that runs from Friday 20 to Sunday October 22.

Glasgow is in for a treat this weekend when the 11th BBC Good Food Show Scotland rolls into town.

And Glasgow Restaurant Association members from some of the city’s top eateries will be featuring at SEC Glasgow.

Two Fat Ladies at the Buttery; Drugstore Social and Red Onion will be providing pop-up restaurants at the show that runs from Friday 20 to Sunday October 22.

The Finnieston will also have a pop up bar and Anne Mulhern from The Willow Tea Rooms will be appearing on the Good Food Stage.

Ryan James, Chair of Glasgow Restaurant Association, said: “We have been working with BBC Good Food Show for a couple of years now and I am delighted that The Buttery has been invited to do a pop up this year as we celebrate our 10th anniversary.

"Our menu for Friday includes some great dishes and Buttery favourites. Great to see Drugstore Social and Red Onion doing pop ups on Saturday and Sunday.”

Dan Thurlow, Director of Exhibition Sales at SEC, said: “BBC Good Food is one of the best known and longest running events here at the SEC.

"The fact that they’ve been attracting massive audiences for over a decade is a true testament to the team at River Street.

"They have kept the show proposition fresh and consistently met the changing interests of foodies with a great mix of talent, feature content and working with local restaurants and brands.”

Anne Mulhern, owner, The Willow Tea Rooms, said: “This has been a really exciting year for us.

"We’ve celebrated the 20th anniversary of our Buchanan Street tea rooms and it’s great to be making our debut at this year’s BBC Good Food show.

"I was absolutely thrilled to be asked to appear on the Good Food Stage and am really looking forward to it. It’s going to be a great show!”

Visitors over the weekend can see celebrity chefs: Nadiya Hussain; Tom Kerridge; Tom Kitchin; John Torode and The Hairy Bikers who will be cooking live all weekend in The Big Kitchen.

Food lovers can shop and taste their way around the Show, trying regional specialities and new ingredients from over 100 of the top artisan food and drink producers.
