Turnip & Enjoy is a new restaurant entry in the foodie bible The Good Food Guide

Popular eatery on Great Western Road gets a mention in top restaurant guide.

West End restaurant Turnip & Enjoy is a new entry in The Good Food Guide.

The popular eatery on Great Western Road is one of 12 new places to feature in this year's edition of the book.

A second West End restaurant Alchemilla in Finnieston is another new entry.

The guide reveals the 'UK’s Top 50 Restaurants' - the highest-ranked in Scotland being Restaurant Andrew Fairlie in Auchterarder at no.8.

Turnip & Enjoy is a family-run restaurant in the heart of Glasgow’s West End.

Its website says: "With an emphasis on seasonal produce, we strive towards exciting contemporary Scottish cooking, all in an atmosphere of warmth and hospitality.

"Proudly featured on the Michelin Guide and a recipient of an AA Rosette."

Well now the restaurant can also boast inclusion in The Good Food Guide!

Its menu at the moment features dishes such as 'veal olive, smoked maple, creamed potatoes, broad beans and carrot' and

'crab, sweetcorn, chilli and spring onion risotto'.

Other new entries include the Sugar Boat in Helensburgh, Forage & Chatter in Edinburgh and Norn, Edinburgh.

This year, the guide also includes an Editors’ Award for Restaurant of the Year - out of the whole of the UK.

And this year’s Editor’s Award for Restaurant of the Year has been awarded to a Scottish restaurant, The Three Chimneys on the Isle of Skye.

It has also made its first appearance in the Top 50 this year, ranking at no.25 with a cooking score of seven.

The Good Food Guide is published by Waitrose on 4 September.

The 2018 edition is the fifth GFG to be published by the supermarket. RRP £17.99.
